Number 265: HDR, Day 26, Come to the page

Come to the page.

Come to the page on a windy night,
as the cat on the porch slips out of sight,
and the growling dog gives up the fight.

Come to the page.

Come to the page when the waves are high,
when they froth and crash ‘neath a glistening sky,
which holds both clouds and the moon’s soft sigh.

Come to the page.

Come to the page when there’s naught to say,
When the words, like the light, have blurred to gray.
On a windy night when the waves are high,
slip out of sight ‘neath a glistening sky.
give up the fight, breathe the moon’s soft sigh,

and come, oh come, to the page.

***Disclaimer:

I’m tired, and rhyming is easy and makes me happy. It makes me happy to do, and it makes me happy to read aloud. It’s like..tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches after sledding. No great art here. But rhyming is fun
