Number 258: HDR 19, Blood, in a tap, running out

Emotions run hot sometimes. Tap water that starts out warm and ends up scalding. Shrieks from the bathroom in the morning; shower screeching off.

Emotions run hot.

Days of thrust and parry. Attack, attack, defend.

Retreat behind the walls you’ve built of stone, mortared with dust. Siege times. Flood and famine. Water creeping in.

Sandbags do nothing but wear you out with the carrying of them; do nothing but throw you off your balance and send you flying over the flagstones.

Bruised elbows, soaked to the knees. Anger, slicing through sadness, bleeds.

Blood like hot water, in a tap, running out.

[Note: Don and I did not have a fight, and I did not take shower and wind up bleeding in a besieged castle. I had kind of an emotional day and I I sat to write and this is what happened. I apologize for my brain. On the bright side, there are only 80-some days left in this experiment for you to endure!)
